El henequén, conocido como el Oro Verde de Yucatán, nació de una antigua leyenda maya protagonizada por Zamná, sabio guía del pueblo itzá.


Durante su peregrinar hacia la tierra prometida por los dioses, Zamná descubrió una planta desconocida cuyas espinas lo hirieron. De aquel dolor surgió un hallazgo: fibras fuertes y valiosas que servirían para tejer la vida de su pueblo.


Con sabiduría, Zamná enseñó a trabajar la planta que llamaron Ki o Henequen para obtener sus valiosas fibras, transformándola en sustento, identidad y legado.


Así es como en ese gran lugar se fundó la ciudad de Izamal.


Esta habitación es una distinción a la fibra que convirtió a Yucatán en leyenda.
